About Us

Place Settings was founded in 1990 by two friends, one of whom Mike Pope still retains ownership. The business started in a double garage in Sussex before rapid expansion into a large warehouse, followed by the opening of a branch in London in 1996.  We are still operating from West Sussex covering mostly London and the South-East.

Place Settings has a wealth of experience for over 25 years in the event hire industry and is here to supply the requirements of an individual client, or a large corporate, as well as many catering companies within that market place.  We pride ourselves on building sound working relationships with all our customers, whilst trying to encompass all their requirements.

Our Collection

Our comprehensive range of equipment is constantly being added to and we are always keeping up with the latest trend.  Place Settings supplies everything you might need for an event; china, cutlery, glassware, furniture, linen and kitchen equipment, and will also try to source any special requirements.  We pride ourselves on being able to supply all items, therefore only one supplier is needed, to make matters easier for our clients.  All items can be returned dirty, meaning no washing up at the end of your event!


Our branch in the South-East is strategically placed to advise and deliver your requirements in a professional, friendly and helpful manner.  We have our own fleet of vehicles to deliver all over the south (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Kent, London, Oxford, Surrey and Sussex), wherever the demand takes us.  We are extremely flexible, and should your event require a delivery/collection outside of our usual operating hours, we can achieve this.


We have supplied to all major venues across London, including Palaces, Museums and Art galleries and strive to work within the requirements of such venues.  We also supply to many of the established Wedding venues, across the South-East and home counties, and many of the major and smaller caterers within that area.  Marquee events are our specialty, as we can fully equip a kitchen service tent, supply all table top items, as well as furniture if required.
